چکیده

Although research on wearable computing is in fashion, few researches pay attentions on interface of wearable computers. This paper presents “Hand-Menu” System”, an innovative input interface suitable for wearable computers, utilizing augmented realty techniques. Users can handle wearable computers by clicking a menu activated simply activated with exposed hand with another hand. As Hand-Menu is a “Deviceless” hand I/O interface, Hand-Menu is instant, place-independent and intuitive interface. Additionally, solidity on virtual menu given by tactile feedback from real finger used as a clicking target promotes users’ reliability of Hand-Menu.

A New Aaect-perceiving Interface and Its Application to Personalized Music Selection 1 Background and Motivation

A wearable computer that perceives and responds to the wearer's aaective state ooers a new kind of perceptual interface. Instead of asking the user to continuously select preferences from a menu, the aaective wearable gets to know its wearer's preferences by recognizing and responding to signals that carry emotional information. This paper presents a new design for an aaective wearable interfac...

Touching the Visualized Invisible: Wearable AR with a Multimodal Interface

Wearable computers and their novel applications demand more context-specific user interfaces than traditional desktop paradigms can offer. We describe a multimodal interface to a wearable computing system and explain how it enhances a mobile user’s situational awareness and provides new functionality. Our mobile augmented reality system visualizes otherwise “invisible” information encountered i...

For most computer systems, even virtual reality systems, sensing techniques are a means of getting input directly from the user. However, wearable sensors and computers offer a unique opportunity to redirect sensing technology toward recovering more general user context. Wearable computers have the potential to “see” as the user sees, “hear” as the user hears, and experience the life of the use...

Spatial voice menu and head gesture interaction system for a wearable computer

In this paper, we describe a voice menu/head gesture interface, the vCocktail+, built for efficient interaction with a wearable computer. This method is devised to reduce the length of the serial presentation of voice menus by introducing spatiotemporal multiplexed voices with enhanced separation cues. The voice menu items were presented fast only within 2 seconds, where the system allows the u...

An Extended Menu Navigation Interface Using Multiple Pressure-Sensitive Strips

We present extensions and modifications that we have made to a cursorless menu navigation interface that is controlled by multiple pressure-sensitive linear strips. Our approach is based on detecting pressure thresholds and dual-finger motions, allowing us to overcome the physical limitations of the prototype input device and virtually more than triple the number of linear strips that can be us...
